Going through Security In New Orleans

This week I had to help my daughter and children get through airport security in NOLA. The agent that issued the pass wanted to know why she needed help!! Is she crazy?? A baby and a two year old who have to have their shoes off, plus a stroller that has to be broken down, plus the DVD player and the diaper bag and mommy's shoes. The line was long and winding. We had a toddler who insisted on stepping on the scale and getting weighed with the luggage. We had an 8 month old baby who was cranky and hungry. Evidently the ticket agent does not fly or go through security!

Traveling on Southwest

My favorite airline! I can change my reservation, choose my seat and I don't get charged for that extra bag. Yes the Traveling Mimi loves Southwest. I even wrote my book My Traveling Grandma while traveling on Southwest. The staff is great. I know, I sound like a commercial for SW !

So far this year I have traveled from Chicago to New Orleans to Las Vegas to Phoenix back to Las Vegas. Then Vegas to D.C. to Vegas

After all of this my family arrived and I made 6 trips to the Las Vegas airport.
The most interesting trip was the trip from Vegas to Chicago with my daughter and two grandchildren. Just getting through security at the airport with a two year old (who did not want to take off his shoes) and a sleeping 4 month old ( of course she woke up when we took her out of the stroller) was quite an experience. More on my travel. I would like to hear some suggestions for getting through security with small children without feeling that you need some strong medication once you finally get through. Tell me how you do it!
